Week One: In the Beginning (1800-1870)

Activity 1: The First Settlers

* Maui he was a great fisherman, and his brothers thought he was not.
* Maui was a good leader "Guard our fish, and I'll soon return with our people''.
*Maui was very brave, he hid in the front of the canoe and he gave himself a bleeding nose to bait his
  hook.

    These are some really good facts about Maui. I like how you have talked about how brave he was. He definitely was very brave!
    Do you know why his brothers thought he wasn't very good at fishing? I thought he was pretty great!
