Day 2: It’s All in a Day’s Work

Day 2: It’s All in a Day’s Work

Two similarities between a  wharepuni and my house are that they both have roofs and both are made from wood.
Two differences are that there isn't any ferns on our house or any designs or carvings.

  1. Hi James

You are so right that they both do have walls and a roof. Both very important things.
We need the roof so that the rain runs off especially here in the winter.
If you were sleeping in a wharepuni you would all be in one room, imagine how noisy that would be! I don't think I would get much sleep.
But in our houses we all have our own bedrooms, unless you have to share with a sibling.
We don't have carvings on ours houses, but the ones that you find on a wharepuni are really beautiful and look stunning.
Have you been to Arahura and visited the marae down there? The carvings there are really amazing.
You should go and visit if you haven't been there.

    Until next time

    Allie :)
