Rimu.
Rimu tree
Rimu can live for 1000 years or more. They used to dominate the New Zealand landscape. The trees can grow to a height of 20-35m with some growing to a height of 60m and a trunk diameter of 1.5m. Rimu's scientific name is Dacrydium cupressinum rimu, some other names for rimu are red pine, huarangi, puaka or Southern conifer.
Rimu wood was used the most after the Second World War when people needed new houses. The meaning of Rimu is tall New Zealand timber tree. Rimu is mostly used for furniture.
This is the most common and widespread native tree of New Zealand. It can be found in lowland and mountain forest on the North, South, and Stewart Islands.
Male and female cones on trees take 15 months to become bright red. They also take 18 months to mature. They make a food source to the animals in the forest, birds eat the seeds and spread them around the landscape.
Some Rimu trees were already 250 years old when the first people came to these islands. Rimu is a valued wood. Rimu is an excellent timber. It turns well and allows a high class finish. Rimu is most used for furniture. It was used to build new houses after world war 2.
James Cook's crew made rimu beer when they were at Dusky Sound Fiordland in March 1773.

Idiot brother.
My brother is an idiot. Whenever we go out for a walk he brings a stick so he doesn't fall over then… he falls over. Then we go to the park and William sits on the swing for a whole day. Then he comes back when Dad goes to bed. When I wake up I see William brang the toilet to the tv so he can go to the toilet and watch tv. William hates the Simpsons but Dad likes the Simpsons so whenever Dad puts the Simpsons on William freaks out. So he goes to hide under the couch.
After William had his little spasm he was ok to get out from under the couch. He had more spasm because the tv had flashing lights and he didn't like flashing lights because it hurts his eyes apparently.

The Kiwi is a native bird in New Zealand. The Kiwi can not fly. Kiwis also have loose feathers that are more like fur. Unlike other birds the Kiwis feathers moult throughout the year. There are five different species of kiwi. Brown Kiwi. Rowi. Tokoeka. Today scientists have found five different species of Kiwi. Kiwis live for between 25-50 years. Chicks hatch fully feathered. They feed at about five days old and they never get fed by their parents. Juveniles grow slowly and take about five years to grow. The biggest threat to baby Kiwis is stoats. Stoats don't mainly feed on Kiwis but they will kill even if they're not hungry. There are also ferrets, weasels, rats, possums, cats and dogs. Vehicles also kill Kiwis. Apteryx is the scientific name for a Kiwi. There is a Maori legend about the Kiwi Tane-mahuta god of the forest worrying about his children in the trees as bugs and birds were eating away at them. All the birds didn't want to sleep on the forest floor but the Kiwi sacrificed his wings and feathers to live on the forest floor and that's how the Kiwi became our national bird.

Soldier
Dear Bob Boby
I hope you have good food. Also don't die please because that would be bad. Anyway I hope you win and have a good night's sleep. The government is rationing all the food. I hope the trenches are slippery. Today we went to town and got some bread. It took so long.
Your sincerely
Jim Boby.
